You want to have the rad. shroud on , esp. in warmer weather. But I am not sure of what you mean about the homemade brackets. Where do they fit into the picture?

The shroud is designed to work with the vehicle to help cool it. If you remove it you will have a less efficient cooling system and could result in overheating.

I am also curious.. Radiator brackets?

I agree the shroud is definitely engineered to help air flow for optimal cooling(as well as keeping the less intellegnt from sticking their digits in there)...i ran mine without one for a long time with no issues...but that doesn't make it the right way to do it, so I wouldnt feel right about reccomending it.

The upper part of the shroud has the upper radiator mounts built into it, I'm guessing he just made up a couple little L or U shaped brackets to hold the top of the radiator from bouncing around?

Just leave it off. It might work or it might over heat in warm weather. The only way to find out is to try it.
Unless you live in the southern half of the country. In which case put it back on.

Where do I find the unique bolts that hold on the top shroud to the rad. and to the lower shroud? I am missing one or two. I went to my salvage yard that specializes in S10 P.U. and Blazers. There were none?!? They either throw them away or have a box of them in a hidden closet.

Aren't they just regular 6mm body bolts and u nuts on the lower shroud?

Yes, they are all over most GM vehicles. But do seem to have legs and wander off if you don't keep an eye on em.
