Is there a certain trick to removing the whole wiper arm? It seems the arm is stripped inside and won't operate any more. Thanks in advance, Jim

Not sure if the 99 is like the 95's
But pretty sure they are.
but the retaining nut is under a cap.
You gently pry off the end cap and that will expose the retaining nut.
Remove the nut and off goes the arm.

 

Ok....just wanted to make sure that I was not missing something. I have taken off the nut and pulled pretty hard and it did not budge and I did not want to damage anything.....so nothing else other than removing the nut?

if it is that hard to move then try using some Penitrating Oil, no WD40, but like Liquid Wrench. Let it soak in for about 2 to 3 min. Then use a LONG nose set of pliers to gently wedge them up. Careful of the plastic vent cover and the paint. Use a sponge or a thick cloth to put under the tips.

What happens with these is that they have no anti-rust protection. So they end up rotting on.

EDIT:
Just remembered a trick I had to do to a Chrysler to get them off once. I had to use a battery terminal remover (for top post mounted terminals), like a mini gear puller. It was rotted so badly it pulled the gear off the mount. Took me 10 hrs of soaking that wiper arm to get the gear out.
The tool cost is avg. $5 at most Parts Stores and Wal-Mart.

 

If the wiper arm still does not come off, then you need to use a puller. The puller that you may have seen for top post battery terminals, also work for the wiper arms, (Snap-On actually markets that tool as a battery terminal/wiper arm puller). It looks like a mini 2 jaw puller with a T-handle going through the forcing screw. Korey
