replaced EGR valve now it won't start
Hey guys. I ran the Jimmy with a code scanner and it said the EGR valve was not working properly. The vehicle is a 95 GMC Jimmy with the OBD 1.5- 4.3 4D 2wd btw. Just put a new EGR valve in and now it won't start. Cranks but won't start. I started it up and turned it around in the driveway to put the new EGR in and it fired right up then. Checked spark and it's got spark. Fuel pump is new. All fuses are good. I can't find any wires I could have shorted but what the heck else could it be??!! Do I need to disconnect the computer and let it reset?
Ok started today by getting a fuel pressure gauge again- hooked it up to the Shrader and had a whole 0 psi. I put in a Bosch fuel pump and new Purolater filter less than a month ago. Both have less than 1 full tank of use. I disconnected the filter from the inlet side and turned the key on- gas came out of the line for 2 seconds and then stopped. Tried the same thing on the other side and gas was flowing good through the filter. Hooked it back up and went to look at the gauge- when the key is turned on it goes up to about 10 or 12 psi then back down to 0 immediately. So can I assume it's the fuel pump? Is there anything else it could be?
