Question Replaced Intake Manifold Gaskit, No Start

I just replaced my Intake Manifold Gaskit and had to take the whole top end apart on my 97 4.3 Vortec V6 LT. I got it back together and replaced the starter as well, new oil and cleaned off the spider injector. but it dosent want to run. When i turn it over it sounds good, i can smell fuel, and can also hear the fuel pump. Got the code reader on it and it told me that the Fuel System, Misfire, and Comprehensive Component Monitor's were all good. But i cant get it started so the comp cant run all the tests. What else should i try?

I would start with resetting the distributor timing. Look for the EDI Engine Timing thread in the Tech Articles (DIY) section.

yeah i got the timing spot on. So now im thinking it might be that im not creating enough spark. . . possibly the ignition coil. I tryed to get it started so i could run a code reader, put fuel in the throtle body, and couldnt get it going. Not sure but possibly a spark problem.

Sure sounds like a spark problem, but unless you broke something in the process of doing the LIM gaskets...

You could remove the ignition control module and the coil and have them tested.

They both really need to be "run" tested on an analyzer to get them hot. Just bench testing them often does not allow you to observe the heat related issues, if present.

One tooth off with the distributor and your blazer becomes a driveway ornament. I just had a strange problem with my ignition coil and it was fairly cheap to replace. I think the coil is ~$30 and the module is ~$70....double checking and adjusting the distributor position is free
