Hi. I need to replace the battery with a new one. I just bought a Blazer 2001 LT 4wd and it has a small 50Ah battery in it. I know that 74Ah 680A is recommended. Will a 74Ah 720A or 750A battery also be ok?

As long as it physically fits the batteries with the larger current rating should work.

I thought about a battery with a higher current because winters can be frosty where I live. I wanted to know if higher current can be used in my Blazer and it won't cause any damage.

 

Absolutely no fear to increase battery capacity or even case size as long as the battery hold down clamp still fits.

 

...or you can avoid the big bumps in the road.

My Blazer is a bit incomplete old 50Ah battery and missing battery clamp
I will buy a new large battery and make the clamp myself.
