I know that Resoine is good for taking care of lifter noise and Lucus is a good oil stabilizer. Of course look at lucus when you pour it out and it reminds me of the old engine honey lol And on filters the best ones that I would recomend are the NAPA Gold(since it's a WIX filter with NAPA's name on it) and mobile 1. I hope that this might help out. I just been turning a wrench most of my life and did it for a living for over 18yrs and that's just a few things that I've picked up. I had a Chevy truck that my dad bought new and he always used Resoline in it but I thought I'd be smart and didn't put it in when I did the first oil change. And on my way to the dorms I stopped off and bought some cause it had alot of lifter noise, put it in and it was gone.

I starting driving in the mid 60s. Have used Risoline in Chevys, fords, Pontiacs, GMCs, Chryslers and tell ya what, its some of the best stuff on the planet earth.

I always say this, if people with high mileage engines are really really worried about gunk that gets loose ruining the engine because the gunk was holding something in ? Then either rebuild the engine or put a crate engine in there. I have used this on new cars, old cars and all the cars in between.
