SAGGING DOOR
#1
My driver side door sags and the pin and bushing that is in the door is worn through and it is now rubbing on the frame. It ain't never gonna get better unless i do something. It is a common problem with S10 doors, my dad's Sonoma servicetruck does it too. What is there to do about it?

the bushings for the in are prone to wear, but as much as doors get opened, not surprising. You can get the part from parts store for about 5 bucks, but the door spring requires a special tool.

I know but my Mechanic told me that is only a temporary fix, he didn't say anything else about it though...

I have also done this on both of the front doors on my truck. Nothin' to it if you have the spring compression tool (search for 'light truck door hinge spring tool' on eastwood.com). I used an old bolt, nut and a few washers to press in the new bushings.
The alternative is having the hinges CUT off and new ones WELDED on. $$$$$ And you better plan on taking it to a body shop to have it done correctly because a normal mechanic probably won't have the tools to hold the proper alignment of the hinges.

1) Replace the pin and bushing BEFORE the pin wears into the door.
2) If you miss #1, replace pin and bushing, and see what you have.
3) You can get the spring out by yourself, but you won't get it back in without the special tool. Either buy one or go to a body shop to have them re-install it.
