Default slight hesitation or hiccup

this just started today.. when i hit the gas the engine hesitates for a second then revs up, but its only for a second. i dont know if its a hesitation but it shakes and seems like it isnt getting gas for that second. today i floored it (before this happened) and it came close to 5000 rpm. i dont know if this would do anything to cause it. other than that the engine runs perfectly fine at idle and once you are on the gas. i also noticed a little water dripping out of my exhaust but not much. my thoughts are maybe my fuel pump or maybe bad gas. i just replaced my fuel filter about 5-10k ago. any help is great thanks.

I also just cleaned my EGR. But this just happened right after I was passing someone had to floor it like I said. (sorry I would have edited my original post but I'm on the mobile site and can't)

Ok I just went out and tried to repeat the problem. The first couple time I hit the gas everything was smooth and fine but then it started to get worse. then I took it for a drive and the hesitation is almost like the transmision slipping for a second. But I know it's not the transmision because it does the same thing in neutral. (again sorry for the multiple posts, just trying to give all the information I can)

I asked my auto teacher today and he said it sounds like the MAF sensor is dirty. I did some research and my suspects are fuel filter, spark plugs (probably havent been changed in 114,000 miles) or maybe the cap and rotar. I just dot know which one to check first.

Make sure if you replace anything related to your ignition that you use AC/Delco or Delphi parts not aftermarket, not even their premium brands. Wire, cap, rotor. Plugs should only be AC/Delco Platinums or a better AC/Delco plug.
