Team ... i know someone has heard this one before... my blazer ONLY DOES THIS WHEN IT GETS COLDER.... not in the summer. ok here you go...

After i start the engine and begin to accelerate i hear a watery swishing sound. the harder i throttle the more i hear it.... after the truck warms up completely the sound disappears. It is coming from inside the center of the dash.. almost sounds as if there could be a coolant clog in my heater core and its pressurized as i give the pedal juice....

wacha think

Air in the heater core . Mine did that right after the radiator change untill i purged all the air out.

The way i've always done it is to run the engine with the radiator cap off untill the thermostat opens so it doesn't build pressure. you can watch the radiator for bubbles or burps through this time too. Once the thermo opens up i shut it off and cap it quick (making sure that the reservoir is full and connected so that as the coolant contracts it sucks more in) and let the engine cool completely. sometimes it takes a few cycles. Generally an engine SHOULD purge the air out on it's own after so many cycles from the expansion and contraction of the coolant. Obviously yours hasn't though.

Knowing that it only does it when it gets colder, which is when the coolant contracts more, check to see that your expansion tank is properly connected and filled, and that there aren't any breaks in the line that could allow it to suck in air as it cools.

If the cooling system hasnt been worked on recently, I am betting there is a leak in the cooling system. Once its purged, there should be no air in the system. Period. I dont know the history of the truck but if the intake gasket hasnt been chenged, I would look there after i checked the obvious. Loose hoses ect.

When the engine cools, it should pull coolant into the radiator through the radiator cap. But if the is a leak in the system, air comes in through the leak instead of pulling in the relatively thicker coolant. Find the leak.
