Default Speed dependant groaning noise in front end of 95 Jimmy...

So my 95 Jimmy has started groaning while I drive. Sounds kinda like a gear noise. as I pick up speed it changes tempo and pitch. if I go over a bump it stops making noise as long as the front end is unloaded, but once it hits the bottom of the bump and loads teh suspension again the noise is back. also if I am turning to the right the noise goes away. Any Ideas?

When i got the truck 6 months ago I had a shop look at the front end to solve a wandering steering issue, and they replaced one of the hubs, idler and pittman arm. could it be the other hub? or is it most likely in the Diff?

And just because I can, here's a rabbit with a pancake on his head...

mmmm pancakes..

If you have a groan in the front in chances are its a hub. Im guessing you have 4x4? I doubt its a cv joint as they usually just click. Could be the new hub too, dont forget that.

ok, so how do you check the hub? lift the corner and try to wiggle the wheel? should be no play right? I think I have just a small ammount of play up and down in the drivers front... Ugh, how hard are the hubs to change out?

Check for play going east and west. That usually indicates a bad hub, up and down is more for bad ball joints. I would also get up to the speed where it starts to make the noise then swerve left and right to see if one way makes it go away. Just make sure traffic is clear lol. When the weight shifts off the bad one it will usually get quiet again. Changing the hubs is pretty easy, you just need a torque wrench to get it all back together correctly. There should be a write up in the diy section.

ok, as stated in the OP, it goes away when i turn right... so that says that the passenger side is going out.... Ok, just wiggled my passenger side... no side to side wiggle, but it to has a little movement when im pulling at the top of the tire... Looks like Im really going to have to go and do the ball joints and bushings...
