Hello, my 2000 Chevy Blazer 4dr 4x4 4.3L V6 just started making squealing sounds from the front of the car on passenger side of car. I recently had a new alternator installed and new belt and belt tensioner installed. It only makes this sound when car is warm or driven for a while. What you think could be the problem?? Maybe a hub bearing? Tranny fluid? Sounds like something needs oil, like one of the pulleys or something. Any ideas and any help will do. Thanks.

When this occurs, open the hood with the engine off and take a whiff of the belt near the tensioner,if you smell burning rubber,I'll bet they used the wrong size belt. Some inept parts sales people may think that one size larger or smaller wont make a difference, due to the tensioner:but it will once its hot!

I did not smell any burning rubber. When they installed my High Output alternator, the stock belt size was too small and they but a new bigger belt on, its about one inch bigger to fit with the new Alternator. I found out what the squeaking sound was---it was the tailpipe. Where it connects to the muffler, its rusted through and is loose at the muffler, thus making the tailpipe from end of muffler to end of tailpipe loose and wobbly. It is not disconnected and I do not have a welder. So, I will have to go to my mechanic on monday and get that welded on. If that will solve the problem. Any other suggestions?? There is a hanger near the end of the tailpipe holding the back end of the tailpipe. That is still holding it in place, but the pipe sways about 3 or 4 inches. 2 inches to each side, which is no good.
