starter engages in drive
need help starter issues first time i ever used a website for help kinda lost my 2000 4wd.blazer started to engauge starter motor in drive sitting still or driveing along park neut 3rd 2nd 1st no problem i can sneak it into 3rd ok might sneak it back into drive for awhile but starter will kick back in everybody has a different fix 1 guy online replaced his neutral saftey switch after rebuilding his car im told why a neutral saftey switch cant be prob but can it?? looked undercar it sure looks crappy all corrided can this be my problem any body had this prob & how did ya fix it help anybody

I would fix the corrosion problem first, if that doesn't take care of it the solenoid might be bad

thanks alot i never used a computor much but helped me get a sunroof in my saturn i guess even an ole goat might as well use all the tools i can really appriciate your time and anybodyelses do you think this could the problem have you ever heard of this before

the neutral safety switch will only allow power to the starter if its in park/neutral BUT if its corroded (like the starter) then it will allow power to go through it at any time... also the key cylinder could be corroded as well and be putting power to the starter at times too... i would check these out as well to see what condition they are in

big thanks im computor dumb it will take me a lil bit to know what to do on this program but yesterday was my first time and you guys came thru thanks ol vortec andjdub if neutrl switch is bad its gonna not follow the rule book lots of folks told me why that switch could not be the problem thank goodness the switch didnt know that everythings cool and i got out cheap thanks
