Default starter won't engage

[:@] 98 Blazer 2dr , washed about 3weeks ago, since then all it does is click, click then it will
start. But this morning it went down to -36c, and was plugged in for 3 hours, and all it did
was click, click, click. I would like to know how to get the moisture out of the starter with out
removing it. thanx.

i wouldnt lean towards water in starter. Check battery cables first and make sure they are tight with no corrosion in battery.

The starter is in need of replacement. They usually get a dead spot and the only way to fix it is to replace it. HTH

[sm=smiley25.gif]The temperature this morning was only -11c, and it started no problem. Called a starter
shop and the guy said the starter is okay. The starter just needs to be taken apart and the moisture removed from it, and cleaned. He said at low temps the the contacts are frozen and when temp rises to a certain point they are not frosted anymore. The guy also said when using a pressure washer underneath the vehicle, not to directly point at the starter. So I will go that route. I will post the results when corrected.
