Default Startermotor or ign switch

Have a 2003 trailblazer that would,nt start no noise from starter but all other power. Shorted out solonoid with screw driver it sparked then i turned key it started right up .It worked great for a week then it did same thing
i repeated the screw driver trick & ITS WORKING AGAIN. My question is is the starter going bad or the solonoid or ignition switch .Thanks jim

The starter solenoid is bad, but usually if the solenoid is bad the motor isn't far from failing, which is why most places replace the whole starter

As far as I see it the only other issue may be the ignition switch. Check out Kyles https://blazerforum.com/forum/articl...-switch-33465/
