Default Steel line questions

A few of my brake lines and my tranny lines are really rusty. I was thinking of changing the brake lines at least for safety concerns. I have read about people bending there own lines, but I was wondering how much would the savings be of bending my own vs. having a mechanic do it? The only thing I worry about is the aggravation involved in bending them since I know they arent close to being straight. Also if I bend my own lines do I need to make the 4 coil spiral for the brake lines right below the master cylinder?

Default RE: Steel line questions

if your metal lines are rusty i bet the rubber lines are too. i bought a set of braided lines for my C10 for less then it would cost to buy new rubber lines. i think it was earls who i bought mine thru (it was on summit) the braided lines wont flex like the rubber lines will thats why it will stop sooner. im not sure how much the metal lines cost.
