Discovered my sway bar end links without the top nuts. They separated apart with barely any thread showing at the top. The bolts/cups must be rusty b/c I cannot even push them upward, even with a floor jack. Bought new ones on amazon.


The pic shows pinkish/red bushings. The ones in the box delivered are black hard rubber. Happily surprised the parts are Made in USA. But no installation diagram or instructions. I did find a description of the parts order/orientation on this forum, no pics.

What is the procedure for installing the new links? Do you "un-load" the suspension? Or jack upwards under the control arm or under sway bar end?

How tight do you squeeze the rubber bushings? I seem to recall helping my Dad with end links on a Camaro when I was a teen. I *think* we tightened until the bushings were squeezed as wide as the metal washer/cups.

Agreed with walkgood! I always jacked the front up and got the weight off of the suspension components. And exactly as he posted will do great. As far as how tight you go, that's exactly how I've always done it. When the bushing is the same diameter as the washer your good. Hope that helps ya man. Good luck!

 

You are not missing the top nut. The top washer is actually a nut/ washer combo thing. It unscrews just like normal with some vice grips.

 

Thats interesting as I have always swapped out my link kits with the unit on the ground!

 

Anyone install the newer Moog problem solver poly end links part#k700526. Install for me was great with the barrel nut they use. Im just not sure how tight to go. Is there any torque specs on these?

 

Should be 11ft pounds
