Taking right turn, brakes didn't work
Hi. I had an unusual incident happen to me earlier tonight. I was taking a right turn into the filling station, and when i applied the brakes to slow down, they made a strange noise.( that abs sound) I wasn't able to brake properly.....the truck kept going (slowly). It was as if I temporarily lost the brakes. I was trying to turn the wheel, but the truck seemed to continued moving straight. Good thing no one was turning to go out of the lot, I would have gone right into them. It happened several times tonight. Once I was away from other traffic, I turned off the truck. I then started it up again, and the ABS light remained on. The light is now off. I have a 96 Blazer. Would disconnecting the ABS fuse help? (I wouldn't mind regular brakes). Also, where is that fuse located? (Just curious). Thank you!

Have you looked at your brake-fluid? Make sure its not low or bubbly. If it is, you have a leak.

only thing worse than not being able to go fast is to no be able to stop!

Possible pinched wheel speed sensor wire?

What is being worked on here?
It is possible that it is a pinched or broken WSS wire as mentioned above. It could also be a dirty WSS or one that needs to have the air gap closed up. Check out the Brakes - Low Speed (below 5 MPH) ABS Activation thread in the Tech Article (DIY) section.
