Default Temp gauge not working

Ok I recently taken the whole motor apart to replace a burnt valve but now that i got that fixed and put it back together, the temp gauge does not show up anything, anyone care to tell me what i might have missed to hook up putting it back together or where that censor is that controls that so i could check it. Also if you consider this double posting let me know I am aware I have been doing that unknowingly, but i thought this deserved its own thread because it is a separate issue.

Ryanmatt135 is an unknown quantity at this point
Default

the coolant temp sensor is on the driver side cylinder head towards the rear, it should be a one wire sensor, take the wire and ground it, the gauge should go to max temp IF the wiring and gauge are good, if that happens then the sensor is bad, if not then you have a wiring issue.
