Default Thoughts on radiator "Stop leak"

Hello all
I have a 98 blazer 4x4. Lately ive noticed the heads seep a touch of antifreeze around the front part of the engine. I know its not the intakes because thoes have just been done. I verified this by looking closely with a flashlight. Anyways ive been thinking about using stop leak to plug the leak and I was wondering what testimonies some may have about the stuff. I would use"Bars" tablets if I were to go with something. Does the stuff work well? will it plug up my heater core or radiatorand reduce cooling capacity? or should Ijust leave it be? I just have a pet-peave about leaks- especially coolant.

Try the Bars that comes with the little pellets inside of a liquid. That's what i used on my truck and it actually stopped my intake gasket leak.

GM sends the blazers out with a small amount of Bars stop leak in the radiator from the factory, that's what that brown residue is in the coolant tank.

i would check your radiator for any cracks as well... i had the same problem and put some stop leak in and then i found a crack near the top on drivers side... costing me a leg to fix it

I would not put stop leak in a cooling system; could have adverse effects...I would just repair or replace as required. I know this from experience....

You wouldn't put masking tape on a water leak?? Especially the cooling system....JMO

I've used Bar's leak in several of my cars over the years - always with good results (although we all probably agree it's just buying time). I would trust it...no experience with any of the others.

Alright thanks for your input guys! I think im just going to leave it be and keep an eye on it. Its been 3 or 4 months since ive topped off the coolant and its still slightly above the "full" mark
