Lightbulb Throttle Body questions

Hey all:

After removing the throttle body, how do you clean it? just spray it with cleaner like you would the Mass Airflow Sensor, except use TB cleaner?

And there was a trick somewhere online that now I can't find that said that by removing something from the throttle body, (not changing out the blade, but that would work great too) it would be a performance upgrade.

I wonder if anyone knows what the hell I am talking about

You can use an old tooth brush to clean the hard to get to areas. You should also remove the IAC valve and clean it and its bore. It is the metal cylinder held in by two torx screws.

As far as throttle body modification goes, search on here for "deflector" and read up on it (you can further constrain you search using the advanced search and putting in my username as the author). It isn't a performance boost and has associated issues with the removal. I completely removed it and wished I hadn't.
