transfer case vac switch

Default transfer case vac switch

having trouble threading in the new vac switch on my transfer case,any helpful tips? i found that the old one had a seized up ball.

its a 98,and there just isnt much room,so i wonder if removing the drive shaft is my next step?

I just did my 2000, dunno if its the same but I just kept trying till I got it. It's at a weird angle and I had to do it blindly by touch, but 4wd works now.
I have small hands though.

I use a swivel head ratchet with a deep socket and go over the transfer case from the back side. More than enough room even for my big hands & the forearms.

*Moving to 2nd gen tech*

i got that bugger in, thanks for the tips. now i have no vacuum at the actuator. I pulled the line off under neath and have vacuum.

I must say i was a litte worried of over tightening the vac switch. was that a concern any of you guys had?

i really need a hand.. next to that 3 vac switch is some gear driven thing that sounds like its has a stripped gear.

i did twist it in a bit more..but still no 4w. frustrated!!!

Transfer case control motor. It may very well have stripped gears. On BF homepage in the google bar you can read more then you ever care to learn. Just so you know it's not horrible.
