transmission cooler line repair

Default transmission cooler line repair

has anyone ever cut out a section and used rubber gas line to repair with hose clamps?...if so what size line...thanks!

I wouldn't recommend it. If you MUST do that, at least use transmission cooler hose instead of fuel line hose. And use at least two clamps at each end to help keep it from slipping off the metal line. Better yet, use a flaring tool on the metal line to make a "bump" so the hose can't slide off. Personally, if I had to cut out a section, I would replace it with the same size metal line and use good quality compression fittings to join it.

As for size, I think the metal lines are 3/8", but I've never measured. They may be metric.
