Transmission Cooling Lines Leak
My transmission cooling lines are leaking due to rust. It is dripping right at the spot the lines pass by the oil drain pan. Hope to be able to cut the rusted part out and repair with some compression unions. It is not leaking where the lines go in the radiator or transmission. My question is: Due I need to drop the transmission pan to do this? Looks to me that the only fluid that would come out when I cut the line would be from the cooler in the radiator. Also understand these lines are 5/16?

i been fixing them a lot lately on envoys. and have done s10s in the past, theres no reason to have to drain the fluid you will lose maybe at the most a half of quart. i dont know the size of the lines, if you want to be safe, cut out a bad section and bring it with you when you go buy the fittings.
