what would cause this?

There's a guy you can trust! What about camshaft retard, what did he find there? For that one, engine rpm needs to be snapped above 2K and back to idle to get an accurate reading.

he said there was no issue there, it was within spec. ill take his word on it lol. because after the relearn he did check it. he had one of the new snap on scanners....man was it nice...lol

Well the rpm gauge hasn't lowered then revved up at start up...yet....also starts haven't been has hard yet I haven't been able to leave it sit for too long..will keep you posted

Which issues are you having...the hard start, engine rev and stumble at idle ..or both?

welp, that lasted 4 days...still doing the stumble and reving at start up..not as severe but i have noticed better performance if thats a consolation lol

Well, money was not wasted with this last guy. Some of the baseline things are now off of the table and it needed to be done anyway after parts replacement.

Kinda sounds like a fuel problem to me (still). Could check valve in pump occasionally be sticking, letting the fuel line drain down some? Then after engine starts it hits the air pocket as it passes through regulator and engine stumbles until solid fuel is established again? That's a lot of what-if's but I think it could be possible. Can you leave fuel pressure guage on it and see if you get any blips in pressure when the stumble happens? Intermittents are difficult.

yea i can keep trying to find it, will have to wait until the weekend to get the gauge, im going to replace my fuel filter, already have a brand new ac delco fuel filter, and i honestly dont think its it. but another simple thing i can rule out
