Default thanks

I can not tell you how much this helped. Instructions were perfect. Five dollar part from Napa and 15 minutes of my time has my 2001 Blazer working again. Thanks!

The little blue plastic part was broke on mine..

Has been for 5 years.

Today i drilled a hole in it and rigged up a little wire to connect it with the lever.

Works perfect.

Then i went to the salvage yard and snagged the actual plastic peice just encase my easy fix breaks.

But i doubt it will its very sturdy.

i also beat my old bumper into submission and put it back on.

There is a screw near the latch that is holding it back. Try locating the hole behind the carpet. If that doesn't work, you have to break the plastic around that screw to be able to pull back on the trim panel.

Default Hang in there Fedup

I too was fed up when I was trying to get my rear glass open and actually drilled a hole through the panel before later finding the factory access hole I noted earlier.

Follow the top of the carpet (assuming your inner panel is like mine) until you get near center - you should feel a depression where the access hole is at then pull the carpet down slightly.

Actuating the manual release through that small hole may not be the easiest to see but it will work.

After getting the glass released you can drop the tailgate and start removing the screws around the perimeter - and don't forget to remove the handle (a couple of screws on the underside of the handle).

Once all the screws are loose you should be able to remove the panel with little force, gain access to the interior of the door and finish this simple fix (it really is once you get the tailgate down).

Hang in there and let me know if you have any more questions....

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This information helped us fix our rear window actuator in less than 60 mins. Be careful that you do not break the plastic clips when you take off the rear pannel.
