How to: Handmade heat shield and intake - DISCUSSION THREAD
Also, my truck is a 2000. A little reading goes a long way my friend.
im having trouble finding mandrel bent pipe around where i live. only thing i can find is compression bend. so besides looks is there any difference between the two? and how long of pipe will i need?
thanks
Edit: ok i did find one shop that has mandrel bent pipe but its about 40$ for a 1 foot section of pipe. does that sound about right? i also found it on ebay for about 30$ after shipping, but it almost doesnt look like mandrel.
here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/45-DE...008214208#shId
and here another online place. should i trust it? link: http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...t?smode=update

got it all done finally!!! i ended up going through mandrelexhaustsystems.com for the pipe. 20.95$ after shipping, so not bad. if anyone has to order their pipe i strongly recommend this site, these guys where great on customer service. all in all it went pretty easy and didnt run into anything difficult. noticed a pretty good difference in mpg and power. i still got some cosmetic stuff to do but here it is.

love the instructions, excellent write up
my 2 cents
if you get some material that hvac guys use for building branchs, you will have an excellent heat barrier. I am talking about the one that they use for square ductwork
