I did mine in a day, start early and you should be fine...I was on my own as well.
If you can get a hand or two it would def help...worst part is getting the bolts in they are in some tight spots.

took me and a friend about 5 hours to do (this includes running to the hardware store about 3 times...)

So, I held my tire rack up to the truck then it dawned on me... I have that silver trim in the way of the lower mount.

Has anyone come across this so far? Just wondering if anyone has a pic of how they trimmed that to make the rack fit...

My suggestion would be to take that panel off and get the tire carrier installed. Then go back in and cut off just a little at a time as you reinstall it so you don't end up cutting off more than needed.

I would personally start heating up the glue behind the panel (heat gun/hair drier), start to peel the panel back, however, measure out how much trim needs to be cut, do not remove the entire panel its just more work. cut the trim piece needed and re attach the rest of the trim. Make sure all the glue is gone from the area, and it is clean, and simply bolt on you carrier

Picked up a tire carrier off a 95 blazer in a local junkyard for 10 bucks yesterday. Cant wait to slap it on my 4 door jimmy and join the club haha.

most find them at local scrapyards or craigslist.
