installing mine soon..

 

New Member....Put mine on about 2 years ago and have never had any problems....Got a 31" mounted on it and no flex....Works great...Only 4 door with this mod i've ever seen in person. I will say I get lots of questions about it tho...and I picked it up for free.

 

I bought my tire carrier almost a year ago, put it on today. The only part I thought was odd is I had to adjust the stoppers so it would latch. Other than that pretty straight forward install. Put 2 metal bars on the inside to help support the carrier. 1 on the farthest forward bolts and the 1 behind the tail lights.


An additional piece of awesomeness that came out was a place to mount my CB antenna. I put my antenna mount on one of the bolts. I over tightened a couple bolts on the top part of the carrier and sucked in the side panel a little bit, but nothing to write home about. I'll post pics tomorrow, but I am happy where I mounted the antenna, and ran the CB cable very nicely.

 

I want to do this to my 02 2 door but need opinions on how much I should pay, I was offered a carrier today for $100 but I have no idea if that's a good price or not. When it comes time to install I think I may need some beer to give me the courage to drill the holes lol

 

I'd sell you mine for $100. It's been sitting in my shed for a while. It's complete with the striker plate, all 6 bolts for the carrier plus all 6 bolts for the striker plate. Some say they are able to get the carriers for dirt cheap. Around these parts, junk yards think they are OEM parts departments so nothing really goes dirt cheap. Also this carrier is relatively huge and heavy, so shipping would cost a fortune.

 

guess ill either pick up the one local or maybe check a scrap yard and see if there is any for a bit cheaper first. shipping would probably jack the price to where its not even worth doing the job anymore.
Cant wait to get some things done to this thing, stock is just not an option with anything for me.

 

I think I spent a hundred bucks on mine, but I was able to find one local on craigslist or whatever for 40 bucks. I bought mine off of ebay, first one I found I bought. and like 2 years later I put it on. You will pay more If you want it now. I you are patient, you will pay less. But whats the fun in that?

Had mine done for a while. I love it. Definitely stands out from other blazers in my area.
