I gotta start searching for the parts to do this for myself. It's the only way to go to carry a full-sized spare once you go for larger tires.

 

I ended up making my own swing-down carrier (not quite finished yet).

They're pretty big (37") but not nearly as big as the camera angle makes the spare look for some reason.

 

Can anyone tell me if the rack from a 94 4dr (key in turn latch tail gate) will match up with a 2002 4dr (inside handle, outside button tail gate). I’m more curious about the latching plate then the swing arm. Just seems like a lot of moving parts in there. I’ve got my eye on one and it’s going to take some smooth talking to get it but I believe I can get it for dirt cheap since it’s a buddy who has it.

ah man! I had a feeling it wasn’t going to work after reading about 285 comments 🤦*♂️. So I need to find a zr2 with a rack and scavenge it.
