this as been a great read . I'm in the proses of this tire carier too . didn't realize the braces would be useable with some cutting . just wonder if they will let me lol

 

I guess ill be the next one to join the club when the weather gets warmer. Read every single post and decided to pull the trigger on one for 15 bucks when i saw a red 4 door blazer in exeter with a swing out tire carrier on it. Will put up pics when everything is set and done.

 

I need to get started been waiting and researching all I can . still haven't gotten the internal bracing brackets . looks like I'm gonna need a torch to bend some metal and make my own.

 

you don't need anything special for the internal bracing. I just used some bar stock from my local scrap yard. Still holding strong.

Matching wheel on the way, should be on next week and it'll look a LOT better.

i bought for long time tire carrier but i don't put it on my blazer because i am not sure to do good thing (sorry i don't speak very well)
does anybody have pics of inside support ?
you put pics of outside but i think inside i must cut or drill ?

Anyone around or near the Saginaw Michigan area that would wanna quote me a price to do this mod for me..I have had the parts to do it for 2 years now.I just never have the time to get it done.. lol

 

Had it for a bit now. Gotta clean it up and do a go over but very happy with it
