I paid about $50 for the Wavian holder though you can find them on Amazon and ebay for $46-50 bucks. The actual jerry can I paid anothe $50-60 for and it came with the hose attachment. Altogether when you factor shipping probably looking at $100-115 total and this is before getting the holder welded to the swing out arm and buying a lock for it if you don't already have one.

Tom, where did you get the coil springs you're using with the tire carrier? Do they seem to help with the lifting? I've been thinking of incorporating some into mine is why I ask.

Also, I wanna see some pics of these jerry can add ons, fellas. Sounds bad ****.

Thanks for the offer, the guy charged me 50 for it, he even helped me take it off, had to drill out 2 bolts. It'll be a while until I throw it on, but I'm super happy that I have one.

I bought them from etrailer. I don't remember exactly what they cost, but they were pretty reasonable. And they help tremendously. That thing is so heavy I would practically get a hernia lifting it without the springs. With them, I can do it with one hand.

I did some preliminary investigating into this. The tire carrier I found (for $80 plus a 200 mle drive) has its bushings still in pretty good shape. My idea was that to replace them with bronze flanged bushings. I found a good selection at McMaster Carr but that is only one place.

According to my notes, the ones that should work are ID 5/8", OD 3/4". Standard flanged bushings will have to have their flange thickness thinned by grinding down to be 1/16" thick.

I'm attaching my notes that I made from measuring the original bushings on my carrier.

Forgive my bad hand-writing; I inherited it from my mother. LOL
