Audio/Video Electronics Wired up? If you have some sort of A/V modification let's hear about it here. Discussion of stock electrical problems should be done in the 'Lighting & Electrical' section.

Default 2 Antennas 1 radio ??? Wierd brain fart.

Hey guys Ive been getting some crappy reception from my stock antenna on my fullsize truck. I was wondering if I could add an aftermarket antenna to pick up the signal ??

I was thinking of adding one of them hideaway window antennas.
Something like this Metra 44-UA200 (met-44ua200) Universal On Glass Amplified AM/FM

EDIT:::: after some more research I think I found what i needed

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290934463813

Hope it works as I think it should

The splitter works great for that, however, you might not get any difference in reception with the new antenna hooked up to the old one. If there's something wrong with the wire or the antenna itself you sure don't want it hooked up to the new antenna. Also mixing antenna's isn't good for their reception either. Nothing wrong with hooking two antenna's together, but they need to be the same ones.

I would just replace the stock antenna
Places like Napa sell a black replacement for less than $20 and think it will do what you need

We used a threw glass 2way antenna on a Lumina APV because magnetic was not an option because of the plastic panels
While it worked , it was not as good as the external type
