6.5" 3 way speakers on both front and back doors.
I had a speaker problem in my 1998 Blazer. And with your help I was able to resolve it. Thanks.
I'm not a stereo guru by any means. I'm not sure why my stereos is not sounding great after replacing the stock door speakers with new 3way 6.5" speakers.
I replaced the front and back door speakers with SSL GS365's.
My tweeters started to sound "crackling" and "distorted". so I disconnected
them and now my system sounds kind of bland.
How do I resolve this?
Buy different speakers?
Please help

are the connections solid?
has the wire been exposed anywhere and shorting?
the are some threads on replacing the stock tweeters...it can be done, like you i am not a stereo guy so those are just my thoughts on it.

Make sure your new speakers are all in "phase". By this I mean, check that your wiring is correct, positive wire to positive terminal on the speaker and negative wire to negative terminal. If not, your sound will seem as you described because the new speakers will be cancelling each other out.
So far, I have only replaced my rear speakers in my 2000 4X4 Blazer 4dr LT with Polk Audio db651s and just those two made a huge difference. But to be far in the comparison, the two stock speakers were blown.
Good luck...
