Default 97 Style, Quad Beam Heat?

I just recently got a 97 style grill, and headlight housings. Im going to go ahead and wire it up straight from the battery with relays, and kill the DRLs. I wanted to add a switch to the circuit to allow me to switch in/out of "quad beam" when my highs are on.

My question is; would quad beam operation create too much heat for the 97 style composite housing? And is there any negative side effects to disabling the DRL's?

I do not think you would create too much heat for the housings. If you have separate bulbs, you should be ok.
