idk if its been asked but if i take off the side mounts of a 98-up player can i but the mounts on the top or can i just set it in there and the front housing hole it in? and what bout the tape under the dash on the center console? what does it fit? looking for 97 factory cd player with the mounts on the top but will take any year 97 and up. and are the plug the same as an 95

 

Kinda confusing what you're asking for lol...I read it a few times and don't really get what you're looking to do.
I can tell you that the radios from 95-97 should be the same, although they changed the dash style in 98 so I'm pretty sure it's a different deck (should be same size, but not sure if the harness is the same). Anything after 03 is double din if I'm not mistaken, which would be too big to fit.
