i have a 99 blazer and i wanna run the power from the battery to the back were my amp is, but i cant manage to find a decent spot to run it through the firewall. v6 vortec. really dont have much room to get in the to drill a hole. i had someone suggest that i could route it through the front passenger side quarter panel but if i ever get hit it might expose the line to the chassis and short everything out. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 

Yeah thats why any professiona will put a FUSE in it by the battery... then if you ever get hit if will short out and blow the fuse... There should be plenty of grommets that you can also shove a power wire through, and if you are going to drill a hole do it from the inside, just eyeball where you want it under the hood, and drill the hole accordingly from the inside. You will probably want to do it on the drivers side though, the passenger side has all the heater and junk in the way, make it big enough to install a grommet in (you can buy body grommets any parts shop), dont just put the wire through the hole without a grommet.
