I may just go be going off on a limb here. But does the 4x4 2dr have those little compartments in the back passenger seat area like the Xtreme does? If so u could try putting the amp in there if ur dead set on hiding. (this may not be the reason. im to lazy to read) Also it MIGHT fit behind the glovebox (drop it down)

yep, exactly what I suggested, that would be a pimp spot, reduces the length of the wiring, cheaper, and a stronger signal
I put my amp right on the transmission tunnel pushed up as close to the firewall as I could. I'vebeen planning on building a small box with a couple of fans to cover it up but haven't had the time. I've got a 4dr with the 40/60 split bench up front, you might have something else going on so mounting in the front might not be an option. Unfortunately there really isn't a good place in these trucks to mount an amp, there just isn't much space under the seats and if you need the cargo space at all, there's nowhere in the rear.
