Any point in running completely new wire for speakers?

Sounds fine right now with some cheap-o speaker wire up to the head unit where I have cut the stock wiring harness.
Amp in center console > speaker wire > stock wire harness cut > stock speaker wiring to all doors
Sound ok?
I was thinking of running new lines for the front doors (cheapest since it's shorter)
But - is there any point?
bought some 16awg kicker hyperflex and I'm going to finally have decent wiring up to the original harness via back of the head unit.
wondering if I should go the extra step and use the new wiring all the way up to the crossover in the front doors.

It sure wouldn't hurt anything at all. While regular speakers (not subs) run on lower power and have lower voltage and current traveling through the wire I've always felt it did ultimately sound better to have one good run of wire to the speaker, or crossover and on in the case of components when being driven by an amplifier. HU's put out little real power and in those cases where that's all that's powering the speakers it's not a big deal, and even with an amp it's not technically any problem either.
However, my personal opinions aside look at it like this, if you're going through the trouble to run wires to power an amp, spent the money on the amp and speakers, and hopefully spent the time and money on the installation of said speakers to get their best performance, why the hell would you skimp on it at the wire running to the speakers which is quite possibly the cheapest part in the first place?

Well I decided to get some 50ft of 12awg for $22 from parts express.
The kicker 16awg 20 feet was the same price!
I MIGHT run new wire if I am bored enough...
Probably just the front doors first since it's easier.
