Looking for an Ipod ready deck that can navigate the Ipod fairly easily. The best reviewed unit was an Alpine
CDA-9857 for $350 at Best Buy ( I have $200 in Best Buy $$ ) Besides for the two lines of text I cannot tell whats the diff between this CDA-9856 for $179. Then I need to blow around another $100 on the adapter. From what Ive seen Alpine seems to be the best for Ipods, any other decks I should look at? Looking to spend around $400 at Best Buy or $200 elsewhere, so the nice touch screens are out, except for Dual brand, and not sure about them.
I figure if I dont spend the $$ at BB for the deck I was looking at Infinity speakers components REF6010CS and 2-way REF3012I for about $270 after sales and tax. What would be better?

ya, i'd stay away from dual........alot of retail stores around me offer a free i-pod adapter with the purchase of the deck. But im sure the alpine will do it as well, if not better than the rest. Just dont get the one with the glide touch dealy.

no reason to pay 100 bux for the adapter. alpine has a cable available at best buy for 30 bux. the older alpines needed the comunicator box but the new ones have a plug- in in the back where the cable plugs in. i believe its called ( full speed ) connector. you can get an alpine i pod ready deck for 179.99.

cable for i pod
best buy also sells i pod connectors for most the decks they sell. they even carry some connectors for factory radios that have a cd changer port on the back of them.
