I'm comparing the low bass response to my 2001 Silverado. It had decent low end (< 100hz) response. The speakers in the Blazer have much less response, they roll off at ~ >200hz. I'm sure a decent set of aftermarket 6.5s will do just fine.

I know I'm not going to get flat into the teens like my 12" Adire Shiva setup at home. Of course that's a 6 cu ft vented enclosure. It wouldn't even fit behind the seat in the blazer .Most of the music that I listen to these days doesn't go that low anyway.

Here's a site that you should check out. They have great prices on car audio.

Yeah, I noticed that the other day. Bummer, I've had my Shiva for 5 years. It will litterally shake my entire 2600 sq ft house on 250W. I rarely get to use it anywhere near it's potential.

I talked to my brother tonight about the speakers in the Blazer. He's got a pair of MB Quart components that he's not using anymore. So, I'll be borrowing them at least for a while. Only problem is that the crossovers are missing. He mentioned that I could just use a cap in series with the tweeter but he'll have to get me the size. Anyone have an idea where I could look up the cap needed for this setup? For that matter, how about a decent crossover design I could solder up?

Thanks,

Chris
