do you not like your Q?

That's exactly what I was wondering. I mean, if one's not enough output you can get another one to match it and increase your output without taking up a great deal more room. For that 18 you'll take up MUCH more room and I can't imagine that it would sound anywhere near as good.

no i loved my Q but, the 18's shock factor is amazing. ya... 6 cuft box but it looks pretty bomb. to be honest i wish i wouldn't have got the high qts and tossed it in a ported box. sure it sounded great but every once in a while i just wanted my roof to start screaming.
my 2 type r's compared to the q sound quality wise sucked but the DC sounds a hell of a lot better then the type r's and thats straight honesty. for being an 18 it doesn't sound bad SQ wise.

Soo here's what I think i'm going to get for my Blazer speaker wise for now. For the front, 4x6 Alpine SPS 406. For the rear, 6x9 MB Quart DKG 169. 4 Absolute HQ-25 Tweeters. And 2 Hi-Fonics Tritons. I also already have 2 Pyramid TW36 Tweeter Horns that I plan on putting in.
I'm not an expert at car audio and this will be the first system I do myself. Practice makes perfect. Haha.
Can somebody recommend a good amp to power everything? I'd like to have 1 amp to power all my speakers and tweeters if thats possible.
Here's links to what I have and what I would like to get. I read up on everything and what I picked out has great reviews.

Wow, what's with all the tweeters man? You know, especially for a beginner, simplicity goes a long long way. Do you not have 6.5" speakers in the lower doors? (forgive me I'm not familiar with the blazers/jimmy's pre 90's) Even if you don't, you may be able to build a custom speaker baffle across the bottom of the door and install a set in the door. A 6.5" in the front will do you much more good than the 4x6's. As for the single amp, that would be a good way to start. Look into Hifonics 5 channels, or the Powerbass 5 channels or if you have the cash Alpine, JL and others make them too. 4 channels for running the highs and a dedicated sub channel for running a subwoofer all in one amp, kinda hard to beat for simplicity.

I have front in dash speakers that are 4x6. No door speakers. Haha. I took out the rest of my side panels and instead of putting the lower wheel well ones back in, i'm going to make custom boxes that wrap around them.
So, I have now decided on 4 Hi-Fonics Tritons in the rear the 2 Alpines in the dash, and then all my lovely tweeters. I like being loud
I already know I'm going to need a separate amp for my subs. 9 12" Rockford Fosgate P2s. But thats not happening until after my mids and highs are in. Haha.
So, 1 amp for my speakers and tweeters, then another amp for my subs.
Suggestions? [:
Here's the example of the custom box thingy i'm going to make on either side.

more speakers does not equal being loud. A good quality set of 6.5" components would rival all of that in loudness and still sound lightyears better than all of that. All those tweets are just going to make it harsh and tingy, and pretty damn annoying to sit in.
I'd look into phoenix gold RSD6.5cs if you're looking to save money, I'm not sure what they are now but I believe I picked up each set of mine for 70$ shipped. Amp them with something that does atleast 125-150wrms a side and you're golden. They get decently loud and clear for a budget component set, and when setup right provide a pretty great midbass responce

I've heard the Tritons in person. My friend has 3 of them. You can hear them forever away. They're crazy loud. Haha.
Throw a few Marine speakers on the outside and i'll be set ;D
