Default Component Speakers

Have a 98 Chevy S10 Blazer LT with premium sound. It currently has component speakers. Woofers in front door tweaters on top of dash. Going to replace them with components as well. Question---can anyone provide a schematic or describe how and where these are currently connected and where to. I want to be prepared once I purchse the new sets.

I believe they're technically just wired in parallel somewhere up under the dash and you'll not likely be able to use the factory wiring for an aftermarket set. Unlike the factory speakers the aftermarket sets have crossovers to control the audio signal going to each driver (the mid and tweeter). The signal from your HU must go to the crossover first (for each side), then out of the crossover with a seperate wire to each the mid and the tweeter. Running an aftermarket component set will require running at least 1 set of speaker wires through the door/dash or both to get the signal to all the drivers. It's not hard to do though, and well worth the effort IMHO as well.
