you could use a door grommet, or two regular grommets and a piece of split loom.custom install door speakers first gen.-amr3963.jpg

Thanks man. I just spent nearly $200 on brand new door panels because the lower section of the original looked like crap. But if I can manage to get mine to look like that I'll send them back. I'm assuming that the hard board is easily shaped or is that a different material you used for the finish at the bottom?

So Ive decided to keep the map pocket after all. im going to use it as a speaker box basically. My idea is to put the speaker at the bottom, using a plywood cutout to screw it to on the other side, and then enclose it so I can still make use of the pocket. It sound really good in my head. my whole goal is to restore it with a new original twist while trying to stay close to the roots. In all my research I haven't found anything like it so I hope it goes well. when I get done I will post pictures. with that being said if there is anything I missed or if it wont work or even if you have a critique please let me know.
