factory cd players
well, a 95-97 will work perfectly. the problem you are going to run into if you try to go 98 and newer is the mounting is totally different. On your truck, you have the pocket below the radio, with 2 screws on top of the radio and two below the pocket, the 98 newer have mounting on the sides. You would be better off finding a nicer cheap aftermarket deck to put in it. Try the JVC kdg-320 (older model kdg-230), pioneer Deh2000MP, (r older model deh1900mp).
You will need a few parts for that install though, antenna adaptor, wiring harness and dash kit.
Best bet would be to buy a radio from crutchfield, as they will throw in the parts for free if you buy a deck over 130 i think.
But the parts are as follows( all metra part numbers)
40-GM10, (antenna) 70-1858 (wiring harness) and 99-3044 (dash kit).
Im also moving this to the A/V section. you can read my sticky at the top of the page for some other model numbers (here)

the truck currently has an aftermarket head unit installed. to put it nicely, the new owner (my mother) does not understand how to operate most aftermarket radios, so i'd like to replace the aftermarket head unit with a factory cd player.
