Default Factory radio interface

I have a 2004 Blazer. I have installed a new stereo and I installed a factory radio interface (Scosche gm200 from Walmart), but I am having nothing but trouble. It doesn't retain power before the doors open, and won't even stay on when the key is in ACC position. I have done everything Scosche tech support said to try and even tried a different model (Scosche gmlan2sr from Bestbuy). At this point, I just want to take it out, and go without it. However, I have searched, and have been unable to find what specifically I will lose without it. I have seen reference to the door chimes and stock security. What stock security will I lose it I don't use it. Will the alarm no longer function? Also, what else will I lose without it.

Thanks for your help.

Wayne

I installed it. Only the head unit, and the factory radio interface unit. I used the wire harness that came with the interface unit.
