Default Front door aftermarket installation??

I have a 2000 chevy blazer 4 door, no bose or anything. I'm replacing the stock speakers in all four doors. The rear speakers were easy to install and work great, however the front doors have a clip that connects into the factory speaker. Is there some kind of adapter I need to buy to install the aftermarket speakers?

I don't know about the clip, but assuming there are only two wires coming from the car side into that clip, and two going out the other side of the clip, you could just cut it out completely and wire (+ to +) and ( - to - ) use some wire connectors or ghetto electrical tape and voila !

That would be the simple thing, like I said, ASSUMING there are only two wires on each side of said clip. If you do go this route, leave a couple inches of wire on either side of the clip, just in case you need to re-attach it for any reason.

If it not bose. Even if it was there should be only 2 wires. One positive one negative. Cut off the clip
A google search will quickly find you the radio wiring diagram to find out which wire is which

The rears don't have the clip? That's weird. My cobalt has clips on all 4, not that they're used.

The wires are probably green, grey, purple, or white for both wires. One wire on both sides should have a stripe in it, probably black. That's your - and the one without the stripe is +

Glad you got it figured out. Its pretty simple, the only reason for those clips is for easier installation for the factory LOL

I'm honestly embarrassed to admit what I had done wrong.. lol. I'm pretty good with stereo equipment (or so I thought). But when I had only the back speakers installed I had the fade set to rear, so when I installed the front no music came out. So instead of figuring out what had gone wrong I got frustrated and packed up for the day haha

I do the same thing all the time. You do all the work, and it gives you problems when you're done. I usually find new dents somewhere when I don't walk away at times like that.
