Head unit wiring :P

RE: Head unit wiring :P
In this situation, personally, I would rip out all of the old existing wiring and put in new wires, making sure to connect them the proper and safe way. It's always a shame when I hear stories of people catching thier cars on fire, just because they were in a rush to listen to some tunez...
p.s: Unless that constant 12+ wire going to the battery is properly fused near the battery, its adisaster waiting to happen...Also, most noobie 12 volters will wrap a wire around a fuse for thier switched 12+...If you havent allready, you might want to pop open the fuse box and just see if theres a wire that shouldnt be there...

Uhm. Well I plugged up to the original orange and yellow 12v+ lines and they appear to not be working. As for the speaker wires - they all appear to be there.
Starting from the beginning and ripping everything out is probably my best bet. I should get some pictures for you all to see. This wiring job obviously wasn't done by me. Theres all kinds of coaxial audio cables of some sort in the dash (aside from the ones that were ran for an amp). Tons of random wires run everywhere... It's a mess.
As for the fuse next to the battery; it has a 5a? fuse I think or a 10 right close to the battery terminal.
I will check the fuse box tomorrow. If this is the case... grr... I'm in no rush for sound though. I can leave all my memphis stuff in my other car till I'm ready.
I'm also speaking with the previous owner trying to get information on how they wired this and they don't seem to understand what I'm talking about.
