I would put in 4X6 plates of the same brand if they make them, and would use bass blockers at the recomended freq. of the speakers.

I would recommend a 4" speaker in the dash. Crisper and cleaner sound and produces little bass. Which is what you are looking for in a dash speaker. They come on a 4x6 plate that fits in the dash. Im running a set of 4" JL Audio speakers in my bravada. Compared to the 4x6 I had in there, the 4" sounds way better. Nice crisp clean sound with little to no bass.

Are you running the 4 speakers you have already from your deck head unit? Cuz your head unit can only run 4 speakers, so your dash ones most likely aren't even working (other than the tweeter in the speaker). So just put a new aftermarket tweeter in their, or buy an amp to power your other 4 speakers.

All 3 sets are run by the head unit. thats how these trucks are setup. Before I went amplified all 6 speakers were being run by my head unit without a problem. The power output is just split between them.
