For the size, power, and efficiency, the PDX is the best amp for his price range.

pdx is $500......50 cents a watt

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/s...p;productId=20

an extra $100^^^and well worth the money, tested down to .175 ohms....and can be ran at 1/2ohm daily with proper electrical.

better amp for the price than a pdx

good lord there is way to much nut hugging going on over here.

If your looking for the best budget to push your R's pretty well go with the bXi1606D.

Other options.. heres a Modded sony (by DBDesignselite) that will run .5 ohms and pushes more than its rated 1200@1 - 145

VFL 150.1 Gives you the room for upgrading later on and an all around just great amp! - 280
http://www.forum.realmofexcursion.co...ad.php?t=46690

VFL 75.1 will give you an underated 1500W's at 1 ohm and can handle burps at .5 - 250

guess it all boils down to what you are looking for in an amp then. Id much rather have an amp that is small enough to mount pretty much anywhere i want without worrying about overheating and space issues than a giant beast that can run ant 1/2 ohm which most people wouldnt even use anyways.

very true.....not bashing the pdx at all, I loved my alpine for almost 3 years.

its just a bit expensive for what you get power wise....

the one my buddy got was actually 1200RMS on the birth sheet. They are pretty underrated.
