Audio/Video Electronics Wired up? If you have some sort of A/V modification let's hear about it here. Discussion of stock electrical problems should be done in the 'Lighting & Electrical' section.

OR, wire each sub parallel to present 2 1 ohm loads, then you wire in series which is probably easier. Positive from terminal to positive on one sub, negative from 1st sub to positive of second sub, negative of 2nd sub back to terminal of box and you're good.
Alright I tried the second wire option and wired 2 1ohm loads and.... they are both performing very nicely. They are slightly louder and both have the same excursion, also the voltage drop is not nearly as bad as before so I must have had something wired wrong. Thanks to everyone for the help

Why are you running an amp that puts out 1000 rms with 8awg wire?

i thought he meant he wired the subs with 8 gauge not the amp.

8 awg is WAY overkill if it's from the amp to the sub. But i have a feeling he's running 8 awg for power and ground...

i would use 8 guage to my sub if i had some spare laying around. right now i have 12 gauge because its what i had. it also leaves room to grow
